Police Arrest Husband Wife for Child Stealing in Ogun

Operatives of the Ogun State Police Command have arrested a husband and wife for allegedly stealing children in the state. The couple was identified as Isiaka Lukman aged 42 and Abosede Olanipekun aged 23 who are natives of Edo State. They were arrested in connection with a series of child abductions across Ogun and Osun states according to the police. The suspects are accused of kidnapping children and selling them for one million naira each. South African police say the search is still ongoing for a kidnapped two-year-old girl, insisting that rumours claiming her body has been found are false. The toddler, identified as Omphile Sethole, was allegedly abducted from her home in Ga-Mabuela Village near Mokopane in Limpopo in the early hours of May 2. According to police, Omphile was taken while she was sleeping in a bedroom at her grandmother’s house, and family members only realised she was missing when they woke up and found a window open. A missing person case was opened at the Tinmyne police station, and a large-scale search operation involving specialised units, local residents and community structures was immediately launched.
