Tinubu and wife begin historic UK state visit

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu will on Tuesday depart Abuja for a historic state visit to the United Kingdom at the invitation of King Charles III and Queen Camilla.​ He will be accompanied by First Lady Senator Oluremi Tinubu, with the British monarch scheduled to host the Nigerian leader and his wife at Windsor Castle from Wednesday, March 18 to Thursday, March 19, 2026. Senate confirms Dakingari as non career ambassador

The Senate has approved the appointment of former Kebbi State governor Saidu Usman Dakingari as a non career ambassador, following a fresh nomination by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu. Senate President Godswill Akpabio announced the confirmation during plenary after the lawmakers considered the report of the Senate Committee on Foreign Affairs, which screened Dakingari and recommended his approval. President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has approved the posting of Senator Jimoh Ibrahim as Nigeria’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations, alongside new ambassadorial roles for Femi Fani Kayode, Reno Omokri and other envoys. Tinubu condemns Borno abductions, urges Nigerians to resist fear

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has condemned the recent terrorist attack and mass abductions in Ngoshe community, Gwoza Local Government Area of Borno State, and urged Nigerians not to give in to fear.
