NDLEA arrests woman with ammunition for bandits in Zamfara

The Zamfara State Command of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) arrested a woman in possession of live ammunition reportedly intended for bandits operating in the area. She was apprehended during a stop-and-search operation along the Tsafe–Gusau highway, Tsafe Local Government Area. The woman, from Birnin Magaji, had concealed the ammunition inside her luggage. Chairman of Tsafe LGA, Malam Garba Shehu, praised the NDLEA for helping curb the movement of arms to criminal groups threatening local peace and warned that anyone aiding banditry will face strict consequences. The suspect has been transferred for further investigation as security agencies intensify operations in Zamfara, targeting supply routes commonly used by bandits. Troops Destroy Bandits’ Camp, Arrest Seven Suspected Cultists in Benue

The Nigerian Army has intensified operations across the North-Central region, destroying a major bandits’ camp in Taraba State and arresting seven suspected cultists in Benue in coordinated offensives under Operation Whirl Stroke (OPWS). According to a statement released on Saturday by Lieutenant Umar Muhammad, Acting Assistant Director, Army Public Relations, troops of 6 Brigade, Jalingo, carried out a large-scale clearance operation around border villages in Takum Local Government Area on Friday. Nine local government areas in Kwara State are under a severe siege by bandits, with kidnappers now demanding food, drinks, and money as ransom for abducted victims. Bandits kill LG staff, abduct ex-council vice chairman in Katsina

Armed bandits launched another deadly attack in Katsina State on Thursday, killing a local government worker and kidnapping a former council vice chairman in Malumfashi Local Government Area. The victim, identified as Aminu “Over-Over,” was shot dead on his farm. The assailants also abducted Nasiru Dayi, a former councillor and vice chairman of Malumfashi LGA, from his home in Dayi town between 7 and 8 p.m. Residents said the gunmen stormed the area in large numbers around 4 p.m., attacking Gidan Boro and Tuge before moving into Dayi later in the evening, shortly after Maghrib prayers.
