Troops arrest three suspects in Benue, recover AK-47 rifle, ammunition

Troops of Operation Whirl Stroke have arrested three suspects and recovered an AK-47 rifle and ammunition during a clearance operation in Benue State. The suspects were picked up in the Agasha general area as part of pre–farming season security operations in the North Central zone. Spokesman of Operation Whirl Stroke, Lieutenant Ahmad Zubairu, said troops of the COAS Intervention Battalion XI acted on credible intelligence about the presence of suspected terrorists in the area. On arrival, they swiftly cordoned off the location and arrested three men: Sule Ibrahim and Salmanu Risko, both from Nasarawa State, and Abdulkareem Haruna from Jos. Troops Neutralise Seven Terrorists, Recover Ammunition In Renewed Offensive

Troops of the Nigerian Army operating under Operation Hadin Kai have intensified their offensive in the North East Theatre, killing seven terrorists during a series of ambushes across Borno State in the last 24 hours. The 192 Battalion and hybrid forces killed four terrorists in the Pulka-Gwoza axis, recovering a mobile phone with a Cameroonian SIM card. Troops of 152 Task Force Battalion at Kumshe, Bama LGA, eliminated two terrorists crossing into Nigeria from Cameroon in a night ambush along the Banki-Kumshe route. Another terrorist was killed by 192 Battalion near Kwatarakasa village, Gwoza, forcing others to flee toward the Mandara Mountains. NDLEA arrests woman with ammunition for bandits in Zamfara

The Zamfara State Command of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) arrested a woman in possession of live ammunition reportedly intended for bandits operating in the area. She was apprehended during a stop-and-search operation along the Tsafe–Gusau highway, Tsafe Local Government Area. The woman, from Birnin Magaji, had concealed the ammunition inside her luggage. Chairman of Tsafe LGA, Malam Garba Shehu, praised the NDLEA for helping curb the movement of arms to criminal groups threatening local peace and warned that anyone aiding banditry will face strict consequences. The suspect has been transferred for further investigation as security agencies intensify operations in Zamfara, targeting supply routes commonly used by bandits.
