Real Madrid’s Valverde treated in hospital after Tchouameni clash

Real Madrid midfielder Federico Valverde has been treated in hospital after a heated clash with his teammate Aurelien Tchouameni during training, according to multiple Spanish media reports. The incident is the latest in a series of bust ups that have highlighted rising tensions in the Real Madrid dressing room. Reports say Valverde and Tchouameni first argued fiercely during Wednesday’s training session at Valdebebas, nearly coming to blows after a foul in a drill. Real Madrid coach Arbeloa strongly defends Mbappe

Real Madrid coach Alvaro Arbeloa has launched a strong defence of Kylian Mbappe after the French forward was criticised for supposedly neglecting his defensive duties in the Champions League defeat to Bayern Munich. Some pundits and fans claimed Mbappe did not work hard enough off the ball as Real Madrid lost 4–3 in the second leg of their quarter final, going out 6–4 on aggregate. If the inquiry concludes that he racially abused the Brazilian forward, the 18 year old faces a minimum 10 match ban. Arbeloa said football needs a turning point in the fight against racism and called on UEFA to seize this moment. He added that Vinicius, who scored the only goal in the first leg before the incident stopped play for about 10 minutes, […]
