Zero Tolerance for Underage Gambling The Federal Government has declared a strict crackdown on underage gambling , rolling out a new regulatory framework for the gaming and lottery industry in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) . Operators enabling minors to gamble will face severe penalties , including fines and license revocation. Lanre Gbajabiamila , Director-General of the National Lottery Regulatory Commission, emphasized:“There is zero tolerance for underage gambling. We are building an industry grounded in responsibility, regulation, and fairness.” New Regulatory Framework for FCT The overhaul follows a Supreme Court ruling affirming the FCT Administration’s authority over gaming operations. The FCT Lottery Regulatory Office (FCT-LRO) now oversees the sector, partnering with the FCT Internal Revenue Service (FCT-IRS) for enforcement.
