Ikorodu City have moved to the top of the Nigeria Premier Football League after a 2-0 home win over Niger Tornadoes at the Mobolaji Johnson Arena in Lagos. Nigerian footballer dies from severe brain injury in UK

Tributes are pouring in for Nigerian footballer Saburi Olayinka Adeniji, who has died in the United Kingdom from a catastrophic brain injury.​ Adeniji, a winger for non league side Kings Park Rangers in Halstead, Essex, passed away in hospital on Friday after being admitted to intensive care on January 25 with a severe brain stem injury. Lindsey Vonn crashes in Olympic downhill after injury
