World Cup Kits Embrace Streetwear Style

The launch of national team jerseys has always been a major highlight ahead of the World Cup. This year, however, leading sportswear brands Adidas and Nike are taking a noticeably different approach, blending football kits with modern streetwear influences. Rather than focusing solely on traditional match-day outfits, both brands are presenting collections that reflect lifestyle fashion. The new designs combine classic football aesthetics with everyday clothing styles, making them more versatile beyond the pitch. Nike introduced its home kits through a cinematic campaign featuring top players such as Virgil van Dijk, William Saliba, and Cole Palmer. In the campaign, players are styled in casual outfits like cargo pants, jeans, and sneakers, emphasizing a relaxed, urban look. Meanwhile, Adidas pushed the concept further during the unveiling of its away kits in Los Angeles. The event attracted well-known figures including Kendall Jenner […]

Super Eagles unhappy as NFF withholds Turkey appearance fees

Super Eagles players have expressed disappointment after the Nigeria Football Federation failed to pay their agreed appearance fees for the recent friendly matches against Iran and Jordan in Antalya, Turkey. The team defeated Iran 2 1 and drew 2 2 with Jordan during the March international window. Reports say the friendlies were organised by the Jordan Football Association, which will pay the NFF an appearance fee for Nigeria’s participation. However, despite this, the players were not paid their own appearance entitlements at the end of the games. According to sources quoted by ScoreNigeria, each player is entitled to 2,000 dollars per match, but no payment was made for either of the two fixtures. The players were said to be angry and accused the NFF of making empty promises and failing once again to honour financial agreements. This is not the […]

Atletico Madrid unhappy with NFF over Lookman’s workload

Atletico Madrid are reportedly unhappy with the Nigeria Football Federation over the heavy workload given to winger Ademola Lookman during the recent international break. The Spanish club is concerned that the forward played the full 180 minutes across Nigeria’s two friendly matches against Iran and Jordan. Reports from Spanish outlet AS say Atletico had been carefully managing Lookman’s minutes since his move to the club, with coach Diego Simeone rarely allowing him to complete full games in La Liga, the Copa del Rey or the UEFA Champions League. In most starts, the most he has played for Atletico is around 73 minutes. However, during the Super Eagles’ friendlies, Lookman played 89 minutes in the 2 1 win over Iran and then completed the entire 2 2 draw against Jordan in Antalya, Turkey. Atletico view this as excessive, especially as the […]
