Nigerian footballer dies from severe brain injury in UK

Tributes are pouring in for Nigerian footballer Saburi Olayinka Adeniji, who has died in the United Kingdom from a catastrophic brain injury.​ Adeniji, a winger for non league side Kings Park Rangers in Halstead, Essex, passed away in hospital on Friday after being admitted to intensive care on January 25 with a severe brain stem injury. His wife and four year old daughter travelled from Nigeria to be by his side but arrived a day after his death.​ Medical staff were reported to have delayed switching off life support in the hope that his family would arrive in time to say goodbye. Lindsey Vonn crashes in Olympic downhill after injury

American skiing legend Lindsey Vonn crashed during the women’s downhill race at the Winter Olympics, just nine days after suffering a serious ligament injury to her left knee.
