ManCo to assume control of Presidential Fertilizer Initiative from NSIA in November

The Presidential Fertilizer Initiative (PFI) will come under the full management of MOFI Management Company Limited (ManCo) from November 2025, marking the end of nearly a decade of oversight by the Nigerian Sovereign Investment Authority (NSIA). Ahead of the transition, the Ministry of Finance Incorporated (MOFI), which owns ManCo, and NSIA held a joint review session to assess the reforms implemented, evaluate partnerships, and outline priorities for the programme’s next phase. Under ManCo’s leadership, the PFI is expected to introduce wet-blend technology, expand distribution to underserved regions, and deepen private sector involvement — steps aimed at strengthening food security and boosting agricultural productivity. Since taking charge in 2016, NSIA has transformed Nigeria’s fertilizer sector. The number of blending plants grew from just four to over 90 by mid-2025, while more than 128 million bags of NPK fertilizer were delivered to […]

Femi Adebayo mourns Chief Kanran, says ‘Seven Doors’ marked his final performance

Nollywood has been thrown into mourning following the death of veteran actor Olusegun Akinremi, popularly known as Chief Kanran. His last screen appearance was in Femi Adebayo’s yet-to-be-released film, Seven Doors, a coincidence many have described as both symbolic and deeply emotional. In a heartfelt tribute, Adebayo said he never imagined the film’s title, which represents transition and passage, would become a metaphor for Kanran’s final journey. “He played in Seven Doors, and now it feels as though life mirrored art. Nobody thought it would be his last performance. It is painful and shocking,” Adebayo wrote. Chief Kanran passed away on Friday in a Lagos hospital after a brief illness, just days before his 70th birthday. Colleagues recalled his remarkable dedication to the craft, noting that he gave his all on set despite health challenges. “He delivered that role with […]

Ruth lost a leg following the crash and is receiving treatment at Irrua Specialist Teaching Hospital. Phyna alleged that company staff visited her sister in the hospital, took photos without the family’s consent, and later posted them online. She said this was disrespectful and questioned why the company referred to her sister as “Mrs. Ruth Otabor” in a public statement. “Who gave you permission to take pictures of my family and post them online? You turned a hospital visit into content? I hope this wasn’t done to my sister. From now on, no cameras will be allowed in any meeting or discussion about this case,” she wrote.
