La Police nationale togolaise a annoncé avoir mis fin aux agissements d’un réseau criminel spécialisé dans les vols violents ciblant les conducteurs de taxis-motos dans plusieurs quartiers périphériques de Lomé. Deux suspects ont été interpellés dans la nuit du 19 au 20 décembre 2025 alors qu’ils s’apprêtaient à commettre un nouveau braquage.
Selon un communiqué officiel, plusieurs plaintes avaient été enregistrées ces derniers mois pour des faits de vols à main armée, d’agressions et de violences sexuelles dans les zones de Yokoè, Adétikopé, Agbalépédo et Dévégo. Face à la recrudescence de ces actes, la Police nationale a renforcé les dispositifs de sécurité, de jour comme de nuit, avec l’appui des populations locales.
Les enquêtes ont permis d’interpeller plusieurs suspects impliqués dans différents modes opératoires. Dans certains cas, des conducteurs de taxis-motos se sont révélés être les auteurs des agressions, attirant leurs victimes dans des zones isolées sous de faux prétextes. Dans d’autres situations, les conducteurs étaient eux-mêmes les cibles de passagers se faisant passer pour des clients, avant de les menacer avec des armes blanches ou à feu afin de leur arracher motos et effets personnels.
L’un des faits marquants concerne l’interpellation, à Yokoè, de deux individus âgés de 31 et 23 ans, surpris lors d’un contrôle de routine alors qu’ils projetaient d’agresser un conducteur. Les suspects ont reconnu être à leur septième tentative de vol. D’autres arrestations ont également eu lieu à la suite d’attaques particulièrement violentes, impliquant l’usage de machettes et de substances irritantes.
La police a par ailleurs mis au jour un réseau spécialisé dans le vol de motos stationnées, grâce à des clés passe-partout, avec revente à des receleurs encore en fuite.
L’ensemble des suspects interpellés sera présenté au Procureur de la République pour répondre de leurs actes.
La Police nationale a réaffirmé son engagement à assurer la sécurité des personnes et des biens et appelle la population à une vigilance accrue. Elle recommande notamment aux usagers de privilégier les transports sécurisés la nuit, aux femmes d’adopter des mesures de précaution renforcées, et aux conducteurs de taxis-motos d’éviter de transporter plusieurs passagers à la fois ou de se rendre dans des zones isolées et non éclairées.

Iranian sailors leave Sri Lanka after attack
More than 200 Iranian sailors who had been stranded in Sri Lanka following a naval incident have now returned home after spending over a month in the country. Court orders final forfeiture of $13m linked to Oceangate Engineering
A Federal High Court in Abuja has ordered the final forfeiture of 13 million dollars linked to Oceangate Engineering Oil and Gas Ltd, a company associated with businesswoman Aisha Achimugu. Bandits raid Kwara church, abduct worshippers during service
Armed bandits have attacked a church in Kwara State, abducting several worshippers during a service.
