IGP Denounces Benue Massacre as Threat to National Unity The Inspector General of Police (IGP), Kayode Egbetokun , has strongly condemned the deadly attack on the Yelwata community in Benue State , where over 200 people were killed . He described the violence as mindless terrorism , not just against Benue, but as a direct threat to Nigeria’s national sovereignty and integrity . Egbetokun made the remarks during a visit to the state to assess the security situation firsthand.
