Newly recruited teachers picket GES over 14 months unpaid salaries
Newly recruited teachers from the 2024 cohort are picketing at the headquarters of the Ghana Education Service (GES), demanding the release of their Staff Identification Numbers and the payment of outstanding salaries and allowances. The teachers say they have worked for 14 months without pay due to delays in the processing and issuance of their Staff IDs. “We have worked for 14 months without pay” Speaking on behalf of the group, Daniel Aidoo said all required documentation was submitted to their respective District and Regional Directors shortly after recruitment.
