Founder of One Love Family, SatGuru Maharaj ji, has renewed his call for the Nigeria Football Federation to appoint a Nigerian as head coach of the Super Eagles. In a statement, he said his position is not based on emotion or sentiment but on what he described as an ongoing reset of the African continent following the end of long standing European dominance. He argued that if Nigeria truly wants the Super Eagles to excel at the highest level, the team must be led by a competent Nigerian. Maharaj ji urged the NFF to stop “falling for their games” by repeatedly hiring foreign coaches for the national team. He insisted that any Nigerian appointed should receive the same pay and privileges usually given to European coaches. He added that a local coach should not be sacked at the first sign […]

He noted that after studying the Constitution, he found no provision that forces a governor to reside in a particular location. He said the facilities are being rebuilt, including a new governor’s office, and insisted he owes no one an explanation for his temporary base. His comments followed recent threats by former governors Orji Uzor Kalu, […]

US clears multibillion dollar arms sales to Israel and Saudi Arabia

The United States has approved two major weapons deals worth billions of dollars for Israel and Saudi Arabia at a time of heightened tension with Iran. The State Department authorised a 3.8 billion dollar sale of 30 Apache attack helicopters to Israel, along with a 1.8 billion dollar package of joint light tactical vehicles. It said the deal would help Israel maintain a strong self defence capability and is consistent with long standing US commitments to its security. Washington already supplies Israel with billions of dollars in military aid each year. The latest approvals come as Israel observes a fragile US backed ceasefire in Gaza after more than two years of war with Hamas. The US has also approved a 9 billion dollar sale of 730 Patriot missiles to Saudi Arabia. The system is designed to defend against incoming aerial […]

Hatami cautioned that if “the enemy makes a mistake,” it will threaten the security of the US, the Middle East and what he called the Zionist regime. His comments came after Washington sent a naval strike group led by the aircraft carrier USS Abraham Lincoln to the region, amid US threats to intervene following a deadly crackdown on anti government protests in Iran. Iran has repeatedly warned it would respond to any attack with missile strikes on US bases, ships and allies, including Israel. On Friday, President Donald Trump […]

Chairman of the Presidential Committee on Fiscal Policy and Tax Reforms, Taiwo Oyedele, has urged Nigerians to file their annual tax returns within the deadlines set by law.
