Ogba: El-Rufai should face DSS over seized passport

A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Delta State, Chidi Ogba, has urged former Kaduna State governor Nasir El-Rufai to report to the Department of State Services (DSS) over the seizure of his international passport. Ogba said there is nothing wrong with making himself available for questioning if he is confident he has done nothing wrong. Security agents recently intercepted El-Rufai at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport in Abuja after his return from Cairo, Egypt, and confiscated his passport. The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has fixed February 20, 2027, for Nigeria’s presidential and National Assembly elections. The Commission said the date is in line with constitutional and Electoral Act provisions that require election notices to be issued at least 360 days before voting. Man dies after falling from moving train in Abia

A yet-to-be-identified man has died after falling from a moving train at Uratta in Aba, Abia State, along the Enugu–Port Harcourt railway corridor. Witnesses said the victim fell from the train while it was in motion and landed by the track, where he died before help could reach him.​ The incident involved a Nigerian Railway Corporation passenger service running between Aba and Port Harcourt. Passengers and bystanders were thrown into panic as the train continued its journey after the fall.
