Saudi Pro League side Al Ahli are reportedly preparing an ambitious bid to sign Super Eagles striker Paul Onuachu from Turkish club Trabzonspor this summer.​ Reports in Spain and Nigeria say the Jeddah club see the in form forward as a priority target as they plan for next season. Tinubu to opposition: Elections not won on social media

President Bola Tinubu has told opposition figures and party supporters that elections are decided by voters in communities, not by debates on social media. Police say N100m paid into IGP’s son’s account was bank error

The Nigeria Police Force has said the N100 million paid into the personal bank account of Victor Egbetokun, son of the outgoing Inspector General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun, was a banking error that was quickly corrected.​ Force Public Relations Officer, Benjamin Hundeyin, gave the clarification while speaking on Channels Television’s Politics Today, following an online report that claimed the money came from the Anambra State Government’s security vote account.​ Hundeyin said Victor himself reported the suspicious credit to his bank and asked that the money be reversed immediately. Kano begins Ramadan health inspections in all LGAs

The Kano State Primary Health Care Management Board has begun preparations for a special Ramadan health inspection across all 44 local government areas to promote hygiene and public health during the holy month.​ Director General of the board, Prof Salisu Ahmed Ibrahim, disclosed this at a strategic coordination meeting with local government health educators and ward environmental health officers in Kano. Iran is close to sealing a deal with China to buy CM 302 supersonic anti ship cruise missiles, according to six people familiar with the negotiations. Comic actor Okemesi in coma after drug complications

Popular comic actor Bamidele Tope Saint, known as Okemesi, is in a coma after suffering complications from medication he received at a hospital.​ Fellow actor Jeff Owolewa shared the update on Instagram, explaining that Okemesi’s condition worsened after he was discharged. He said the actor became very weak, slept almost nonstop over the weekend and lost his appetite, prompting an emergency return to hospital on Monday.​ According to Jeff, several hospitals initially refused to admit Okemesi, including a government facility in Igodo, where the doctor reportedly claimed there was no bed space.
