Controversial American singer, Lil Nas X, has been arrested in Los Angeles after a bizarre incident in which he was found wandering the streets in just his underwear and cowboy boots.
Police said the 26-year-old was spotted on Ventura Boulevard around 5:30 a.m. on Thursday, behaving erratically and making cryptic remarks, including: “Don’t be late to the party.” Eyewitnesses also reported seeing him balancing a traffic cone on his head.
Concerned bystanders alerted authorities. According to LAPD spokesperson Charles Miller, the situation escalated when Lil Nas X allegedly “charged” at officers and struck one, prompting his arrest on suspicion of misdemeanor battery.
He was initially taken to a hospital for evaluation over concerns of a possible drug overdose before being discharged and booked into Valley Jail in Van Nuys.
The incident comes just months after the “Old Town Road” star revealed he had been hospitalised due to partial facial paralysis.
