Dix ans après sa première version, le Togo dispose désormais d’un Plan national d’adaptation (PNA) actualisé, conçu pour mieux répondre aux défis climatiques et faciliter l’accès aux financements internationaux.
Les impacts du changement climatique se manifestent de manière de plus en plus marquée dans le pays. Inondations fréquentes, sécheresses prolongées et pluies irrégulières perturbent fortement des secteurs essentiels tels que l’agriculture, la santé, l’accès à l’eau potable, les écosystèmes forestiers et les zones côtières.
Pour répondre à ces enjeux, les autorités ont finalisé ce samedi une nouvelle version du PNA. Ce document stratégique, mis à jour après dix ans, prend en compte les évolutions du contexte national. Il s’appuie notamment sur des avancées importantes comme l’adoption d’une loi sur le changement climatique et la progression de la décentralisation, qui renforce le rôle des collectivités locales dans la mise en œuvre des actions d’adaptation.
Le plan poursuit trois objectifs principaux : combler les insuffisances en matière d’adaptation, améliorer la planification dans les différents secteurs et mobiliser davantage de financements climatiques internationaux afin de déployer des actions à grande échelle.
Selon Dimizou Aouffoh Koffi, représentant du ministère de l’Environnement, ce PNA actualisé constitue un levier essentiel pour aider le Togo à faire face aux défis climatiques et à bâtir une société plus résiliente.
Ce nouveau cadre reflète une ambition claire et une réalité partagée : face aux enjeux climatiques, une action collective est indispensable.
