Le Togo a franchi une nouvelle étape dans le renforcement de son système de santé en mettant en service deux cliniques mobiles spécialisées, l’une en ophtalmologie et l’autre en santé dentaire. Ces unités permettront d’apporter des soins spécialisés aux populations rurales éloignées des centres hospitaliers.
Un investissement de 810 000 dollars
Officiellement réceptionnées à Lomé le 27 août 2025 par le ministre de la Santé, Prof. Tchin Darré, les deux cliniques mobiles sont entièrement équipées pour diagnostiquer et traiter les maladies oculaires et dentaires.
Le projet représente un investissement total de 810 082 dollars US (environ 490 millions FCFA). Son financement est assuré par la Banque Islamique de Développement (IsDB), avec l’appui opérationnel du Programme des Nations Unies pour le Développement (PNUD), dans le cadre du Programme d’Appui au Renforcement des Unités de Santé Communautaire (PARUSCT).
Des soins de proximité pour réduire les inégalités
« Cette initiative reflète notre engagement à rapprocher des citoyens des soins de qualité, où qu’ils se trouvent », a déclaré le ministre de la Santé, Prof. Tchin Darré, lors de la cérémonie de lancement.
Les cliniques mobiles visent à réduire les disparités en matière d’accès aux soins en offrant à des milliers de Togolais en zones reculées la possibilité de bénéficier de consultations et de traitements spécialisés, notamment pour les maladies de la vue et les pathologies dentaires souvent négligées en milieu rural.
Une action inscrite dans le PNDS
Cette innovation s’inscrit dans la dynamique du Plan National de Développement Sanitaire (PNDS), qui place la lutte contre les inégalités d’accès aux soins au cœur des priorités gouvernementales. Elle complète les efforts déjà engagés par l’État et ses partenaires pour améliorer la couverture sanitaire et atteindre les Objectifs de Développement Durable (ODD).
Vers un meilleur accès aux soins spécialisés
Avec ces deux nouvelles unités mobiles, le Togo entend non seulement renforcer son offre de soins spécialisés, mais aussi accroître la résilience de son système de santé face aux défis liés aux inégalités géographiques.
En plus de contribuer à l’amélioration des indicateurs de santé publique, le projet devrait permettre d’intensifier les campagnes de dépistage précoce, de prévention et de traitement dans des zones longtemps marginalisées.

Iranian sailors leave Sri Lanka after attack
More than 200 Iranian sailors who had been stranded in Sri Lanka following a naval incident have now returned home after spending over a month in the country. According to Deputy Defence Minister Aruna Jayasekara, a total of 238 sailors were repatriated. This included 32 crew members rescued from the Iris Dena and 206 from the Irins Bushehr. Court orders final forfeiture of $13m linked to Oceangate Engineering
A Federal High Court in Abuja has ordered the final forfeiture of 13 million dollars linked to Oceangate Engineering Oil and Gas Ltd, a company associated with businesswoman Aisha Achimugu. Justice Emeka Nwite granted the request by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission for the money to be permanently forfeited to the Federal Government. Bandits raid Kwara church, abduct worshippers during service
Armed bandits have attacked a church in Kwara State, abducting several worshippers during a service.
