Falcons remain Africa’s best as Nigeria lasses rise to 36th in FIFA rankings
Nigeria’s Super Falcons have climbed to 36th place in the latest FIFA Women’s World Rankings, tightening their grip as Africa’s top ranked women’s national team. The Justine Madugu led side moved up one spot from 37th after a 3 1 victory over Cameroon in a friendly match last month. Despite limited fixtures, the result was enough to boost their global standing. The ten time African champions continue to lead the continent comfortably. South Africa’s Banyana Banyana are second in Africa and 58th in the world, followed by Ghana’s Black Queens in 59th, Morocco’s Atlas Lionesses in 62nd and Zambia in 64th to complete Africa’s top five.
