Delta police intercept 490g cocaine hidden in bulbs, recover gun linked to murder
Operatives of the Delta State Police Command have intercepted 490 grams of suspected cocaine and 4 grams of cannabis concealed inside energy‑saving bulbs along the Onicha‑Ugbo/Ewohimi Road. Police spokesman Bright Edafe said the discovery was made on April 13, 2026, by Safer Highway Patrol officers who stopped a Sienna bus heading north and found the drugs hidden in electric bulbs. The 47‑year‑old driver, Osuke Stephen, was arrested at the scene, and preliminary investigation indicated that the consignment was being transported to Abuja, with efforts ongoing to track other suspects linked to the shipment.
