I miss Super Eagles — Troost-Ekong
Former Super Eagles captain William Troost-Ekong has said he misses playing for Nigeria and expressed deep regret over the team missing the 2026 FIFA World Cup co-hosted by the US, Canada, and Mexico. In his retirement note from international football in December 2025, Troost-Ekong said: "This isn't a final goodbye. My work within the Nigerian communities continues, just as my love and passion for this team will never fade". The Al Kholood defender, who plays in Qatar's Stars League, explained that his decision to retire was to give younger players an opportunity to have more playing time.
