Lindsey Vonn crashes in Olympic downhill after injury

American skiing legend Lindsey Vonn crashed during the women’s downhill race at the Winter Olympics, just nine days after suffering a serious ligament injury to her left knee. The 41-year-old had completed two solid training runs on the famous Olimpia delle Tofane course in Cortina, but her race ended abruptly after she lost control early in her descent. Italy rules out ICE police role at Winter Games

Italy has ruled out any operational police role for United States immigration agency ICE during the Milan Cortina 2026 Winter Olympics, following public anger over its planned presence.​ Interior Minister Matteo Piantedosi told parliament that only the Homeland Security Investigations arm of ICE will be in Italy and that its staff will work inside United States diplomatic missions. He stressed they are not operational agents and have no powers to carry out law enforcement activities on Italian soil.​ Piantedosi said criticism and fears about their role at the Games were completely unfounded. Solo Bobsled Run Shocks at St. Moritz

During a World Cup race in St. Moritz, Switzerland, U.S. bobsled driver Kris Horn experienced a dramatic and dangerous run after a major failure at the start left him alone in the sled. As the race began, Horn entered the four-man sled first, following standard procedure. However, his teammates Ryan Rager, Hunter Powell, and Caleb Furnell all struggled to get in.
