Delta police PRO defends ‘turn on’ tweet after backlash
The Public Relations Officer of the Delta State Police Command, Bright Edafe, has defended his controversial social media comment directed at activist Rinu Oduala, saying it was misunderstood and “sexualised” by critics. He said the remark had been taken out of context and did not have a sexual meaning. Edafe’s comment came after Oduala criticised the police response to viral videos allegedly showing women assaulted during an Ozoro festival in Delta State. He had earlier described the incident as “alarming, disgusting and embarrassing” and said the police were investigating, but Oduala faulted his reaction as slow and inadequate.
