Troops rescue six kidnapped victims in Kogi
Troops of the Nigerian Army, working with other security agencies, have rescued six kidnap victims during a joint operation in Kogi State. The operation was carried out around the Osara–Okene axis after security forces received credible intelligence on the movement and location of the kidnappers and their hostages. Acting on the information, the troops and other security personnel launched a coordinated raid on the criminals’ hideout, engaging the suspects and forcing them to abandon the captives and flee into the surrounding forest. All six victims were rescued alive and taken into safety, where they received medical checks and counselling before being reunited with their families. The security agencies vowed to sustain the offensive against criminal gangs operating in Kogi and neighbouring states, calling on residents to continue sharing timely information to support ongoing operations.
