Back-to-back World Cup titles a ‘dream’ for Argentina, says Tagliafico

Argentina full-back Nicolas Tagliafico says it would be a “dream” for the Albiceleste to win back-to-back World Cup titles at the 2026 finals in the United States, Mexico and Canada. He noted that only Brazil and Italy have ever retained the trophy, and that Argentina are determined but must stay focused “day by day” and take the tournament one match at a time. Tagliafico pointed out that Lionel Messi, now 38, has confirmed this will be his sixth and final World Cup, with Argentina heading into the tournament as one of the favourites after finishing top of the South American qualifiers.
