Mexico: US agents lacked approval for operation
The Mexico has said that two US agents who died in a car crash last weekend were not authorised to carry out operations on its territory. According to officials, the agents—reported to be linked to the CIA—had taken part in a raid targeting suspected drug laboratories in the northern state of Chihuahua. Their vehicle later veered off a mountain road and exploded. Following an investigation ordered by President Claudia Sheinbaum, Mexico’s security ministry stated that neither agent had formal accreditation to participate in operational activities.
