Iran warns of ‘much more devastating’ retaliation if civilians are hit

Iran’s central military command has warned it will launch “much more devastating” retaliation if its adversaries carry out further strikes on civilian targets or infrastructure. The warning comes amid spiralling tensions with the United States and Israel over attacks on Iranian territory and regional interests. In a statement carried by state media, commanders said that any repeat attacks on civilian sites would trigger broader and more destructive waves of offensive and retaliatory operations. They accused Washington and Tel Aviv of already resorting to hitting non‑military facilities in an effort to compensate for battlefield “failures”.
