Police deploy special squads ahead Tinubu’s visit to Borno

The Borno State Police Command has deployed special security teams across Maiduguri ahead of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s visit to the state. The visit, scheduled for today, will see the President commission key projects and attend a high profile wedding ceremony.​ Police Public Relations Officer ASP Nahum Daso said the state Commissioner of Police, Naziru Abdulmajid, has rolled out a robust security operation for the visit. The deployment includes conventional police officers, tactical teams, surveillance squads, crowd control units and Explosive Ordnance Disposal specialists.​ Daso announced that some roads, especially routes linking Airport Road to Shehu Road in Maiduguri, will experience temporary traffic diversions and restrictions at intervals.
