SSANIP asks FG renegotiation panel to hasten talks
The Senior Staff Association of Nigerian Polytechnics has appealed to the Federal Government’s panel on the renegotiation of its agreement with unions in the polytechnic sector to speed up its work. The union said delays in concluding the process are frustrating workers and threatening the fragile peace in the system. SSANIP noted that the renegotiation of its agreement with the government has dragged on for years without clear timelines for completion. It warned that leaving key welfare issues unresolved for too long sends a wrong signal about how polytechnic workers are valued. The association urged members of the renegotiation panel to treat the process as urgent and to increase the frequency of meetings until a new agreement is reached and signed.
