MASSOB Hails Compliance With Biafra Day Sit-at-Home
The Movement for the Actualisation of the Sovereign State of Biafra (MASSOB) has praised the high compliance with the sit-at-home order declared across the South-East to mark Biafra Remembrance Day on May 30. MASSOB said residents of Biafra land overwhelmingly obeyed the directive, which saw towns, villages, and cities in the South-East come to a complete standstill as people stayed indoors in honour of fallen Biafra heroes and heroines of the 1967–1970 civil war. The group, which earlier declared May 30, 2026, as a sit-at-home exercise in the spirit of “true Biafranism and brotherhood among Biafra agitators and Biafrans in general,” described the peaceful compliance as a demonstration of unity and respect for the Biafra struggle.
