Police Arrest Suspected Student Cultists in Akwa Ibom With Human Skull, Gun
The Akwa Ibom State Police Command has arrested seven suspected student cultists allegedly linked to a series of violent attacks, armed robbery, and unlawful possession of a human skull and firearm. Police Public Relations Officer, Timfon John, confirmed the arrests in a statement on Wednesday, disclosing that the suspects were apprehended on August 28, 2025, following a tip-off from a student of Akwa Ibom State Polytechnic, Ikot Osurua, who had renounced his membership of the cult group. According to John, the suspects, believed to be members of the Ku Klux Klans (KKK) confraternity, had ambushed and attacked the student three days earlier, on August 25, leaving him unconscious after inflicting severe injuries. “The victim, who had renounced membership of the group, was attacked along Ikot Osurua and dispossessed of his Redmi 13C smartphone and N41,000 cash,” the police statement read.
