Retirement bombshell: Five DCGs to lead 1,516 officers out of Customs
The Nigeria Customs Service is set for a major shake-up as 1,516 officers are scheduled to leave the service over the next two years under statutory retirement. According to internal circulars issued by the service, five Deputy Comptroller-Generals will lead the exit, alongside dozens of senior officers across various commands and units nationwide. The retirement lists cover 825 officers due to leave in 2026 and another 691 in 2027. The notices, signed on behalf of the Deputy Comptroller-General in charge of Human Resources and Development, direct affected officers to begin preparations for their exit from active service.
