Correctional service empowers Akwa Ibom inmates with starter packs

The Nigerian Correctional Service, Akwa Ibom Command, has equipped five inmates with business starter packs to support their reintegration into society and help them build sustainable livelihoods after release. The command’s Public Relations Officer, Richard Metong, announced the initiative in a statement issued on Friday in Uyo.​ Speaking during the presentation at the Medium Security Custodial Centre, the state Controller, Frank Okonkwo, reaffirmed that rehabilitation remains a core mandate under the NCoS Act, 2019.
