President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has approved the posting of Senator Jimoh Ibrahim as Nigeria’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations, alongside new ambassadorial roles for Femi Fani Kayode, Reno Omokri and other envoys. According to a statement by the President’s Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, Tinubu cleared the posting of 65 ambassadors and high commissioners, made up of 31 career diplomats and 34 non career appointees. The postings follow the Senate’s confirmation of all nominees in December 2025. Jimoh Ibrahim, a businessman and former senator who represented Ondo South, will now serve as Nigeria’s Permanent Representative at the UN. Spain pick Chattanooga as 2026 World Cup training base

Spain will be based in the US city of Chattanooga during the 2026 FIFA World Cup, the Spanish Football Federation has announced. The city is about two hours from Atlanta, where Spain will play two of their three group matches.
