President Tinubu Seeks Senate Confirmation for New Service Chiefs

President Bola Tinubu has formally asked the Nigerian Senate to confirm his newly appointed military service chiefs. This means the entire Senate will screen the nominees, with the confirmation process scheduled for next week.

 National Assembly Pushes for Timely Constitution Review

The National Assembly has reaffirmed its commitment to a timely and people-centered review of the 1999 Constitution. Speaking at a joint retreat in Lagos, the Deputy Senate President, Senator Barau Jibrin, urged lawmakers to work towards transmitting the first set of amendments to State Houses of Assembly before the end of the year. These include 69 amendment bills, 55 requests for new states, and 278 requests for the creation of new local governments.
