Onyedika Lifts Belgian League Title with Club Brugge

Super Eagles midfielder Raphael Onyedika has won the Belgian Pro League title with Club Brugge, adding another major trophy to his growing career collection. The Belgian giants secured their 20th league championship after a tense 2-2 draw away to KV Mechelen on Thursday night, finishing ahead of closest rivals Royale Union Saint-Gilloise with one game still left to play in the season. Against Mechelen, Greek winger Christos Tzolis opened the scoring in the 16th minute before Nicolò Tresoldi doubled Club Brugge's lead shortly after half-time. Mechelen fought back late in the game and eventually forced a 2-2 draw after an 86th-minute own goal, but the single point was enough for Brugge to officially secure the league title. Onyedika, 25 years old, has now won six major trophies during his senior career. Four of those titles have come with Club Brugge […]

Nigeria 3 1 Uganda: Super Eagles seal perfect group record

He finished calmly from a Fisayo Dele Bashiru cross just two minutes after Uganda’s veteran keeper Denis Onyango had denied him from close range. Nigeria had dominated from the start, with Samuel Chukwueze and Moses Simon threatening early. Nigeria’s Depth Shines in Convincing Win Over Uganda

Nigeria delivered a strong message to their Africa Cup of Nations rivals with a confident 3–1 victory over Uganda, achieved with a heavily rotated squad. Head coach Eric Sékou Chelle will take particular satisfaction from the display, as it underlined the Super Eagles’ depth and attacking strength even without several regular starters. Midfielder Raphael Onyedika was the standout performer, producing a composed and commanding display capped by two well-taken goals. His influence in the centre of the pitch controlled the tempo and limited Uganda’s ability to build sustained attacks. Paul Onuachu also impressed, scoring Nigeria’s third goal and entering the history books as the 70th Nigerian player to score at the Africa Cup of Nations — more than any other nation has produced. Despite their dominance, Nigeria again showed a familiar weakness late on. With the game already won, they […]
