A violent rainstorm has killed two people and destroyed more than 50 houses in Dokan Mai Jama’a community, Chikun Local Government Area of Kaduna State. The incident occurred after a heavy downpour accompanied by strong winds that lasted for over an hour. Local sources said the storm ripped off roofs, pulled down walls and damaged property worth millions of naira. Several families were left homeless as their houses were either completely flattened or badly affected by the wind and rain. Community leaders have called on the Kaduna State Government, the National Emergency Management Agency and other humanitarian agencies to come to the aid of affected residents. Rainstorm Kills 7-Year-Old Girl in Damongo, Destroys Shops

A powerful rainstorm struck Damongo, the capital of the Savannah Region, on Wednesday night, leaving one person dead and causing severe destruction to buildings and businesses.Tragically, a seven-year-old girl lost her life when a roofing sheet, dislodged by the storm, struck her neck as she and her brother attempted to run home. A family member, Karim Salifu, expressed deep regret over allowing the children outside at that time, believing the tragedy could have been avoided.The storm, lasting just ten minutes, caused extensive damage across the town. The Damongo branch of the Volta River Authority (VRA) suffered significant losses, with computers soaked in water. Nearby shops, including a pharmacy, were also affected.At the time of reporting, the National Disaster Management Organisation (NADMO) was still assessing the extent of the damage.
