INEC urges Nigerians to register as CVR closes today
INEC has ruled out any further extension of the nationwide CVR, insisting that voter registration will end today, Sunday 26 July 2026, after a two‑week grace period added earlier this month. The exercise, which began in August 2025 and resumed for its final phase in May, is the last opportunity for new voters to join the register ahead of the 2027 general elections. In a statement and posts on its official X and Facebook pages, the commission urged citizens who are 18 and above, and others who missed earlier phases, to take advantage of the final hours.
