Reps minority demands halt to new tax laws amid alteration probe

The minority caucus of the House of Representatives has demanded suspension of four tax reform Acts until investigations into alleged alterations are complete. The call follows claims that gazetted versions circulating from the Ministry of Information differ from what lawmakers passed and President Bola Tinubu signed.​ PDP lawmaker Abdulsamad Dasuki raised the matter as a privilege issue at plenary, prompting the House to form a committee to probe the alleged changes.
