Over 2.8 Million Voters Participate in Anambra Election

The Anambra State governorship election saw over 2.8 million registered voters going to the polls to choose the next governor. The election featured 16 candidates, including the current governor Professor Chukwuma Soludo, Prince Nicholas Ukachukwu, and Sir Paul Chukwuma among others. The election took place across 5,718 polling units with more than 24,000 ad hoc staff deployed and 6,879 BVAS devices for accreditation. The election day was marked by a high turnout, with voters of all ages coming out to participate. Notable moments included a 110-year-old man, Pa Onwujiobi Nwafor, casting his vote in Aguata and other elderly citizens taking part, demonstrating strong community engagement.
