Togo : nouvelle direction pour protéger dirigeants et institutions

Le gouvernement togolais a annoncé la création d’une Direction de la protection des hautes personnalités et des institutions à l’issue d’un Conseil des ministres, selon un communiqué officiel. Cette nouvelle direction aura pour mission de sécuriser les dirigeants de l’État et les institutions publiques, en regroupant des agents issus de la police et de la gendarmerie sous un commandement unique. Le communiqué précise que cette initiative répond aux évolutions du contexte sécuritaire et à la visibilité croissante du Togo sur la scène internationale, notamment avec l’organisation d’événements internationaux. L’objectif affiché est de rationaliser le commandement, de améliorer la coordination opérationnelle et de garantir une meilleure efficacité et professionnalisation des dispositifs de protection.

Vigilante leader, two others held over death of suspect in Rivers

Police in Rivers State have arrested the leader of a local vigilante group and two others for allegedly torturing a man to death in Okogbe community, Ahoada West Local Government Area.​ The suspects, identified as vigilante chairman Joshua, member Friday Silas and motorcyclist Obed Godlove, were intercepted on Sunday by youths and a Joint Task Force in nearby Ukpeliede community while they were allegedly attempting to dispose of the victim’s body.​ The deceased, known as Ghadafi, was said to have been arrested by the trio on Saturday after he was accused of stealing palm fruits from the community. Police fire tear gas at Lagos residents protesting Makoko demolitions

There was tension in Lagos on Tuesday as police fired tear gas at residents protesting the demolition of homes in the Makoko waterfront community and other parts of the state. Members of the Makoko community, alongside activists and sympathisers, had gathered to condemn ongoing demolitions and forced evictions they say are displacing thousands of people, including women and children. Police nab 10 suspects for kidnapping, robbery in Imo

The Imo State Police Command has arrested 10 suspects for alleged involvement in kidnapping, armed robbery and cult-related activities in different parts of the state. The suspects were paraded at the command headquarters in Owerri, where police also displayed recovered weapons and stolen items linked to their operations.​ Police Commissioner Danjuma Aboki said the arrests followed sustained intelligence-led raids and patrols targeting criminal hideouts. Army, police foil night attack on Benin–Sapele road

Soldiers and police officers have rescued a missing passenger after a late-night gun attack on two commercial buses along the Benin–Sapele Expressway near Obayantor 2 community in Edo State. The incident happened around 10:45 p.m. when armed men suddenly came out of the bush and opened fire on vehicles on the busy route.​ One of the targeted vehicles, a white commercial bus with registration number 166 XB, was carrying four passengers from Kaduna to Sapele. Woman Arrested Over False Kidnap Alarm in Edo

Terrorists Kidnap Students From Niger Catholic School

15 Injured in Major Road Crash in Ogun State

Fifteen people suffered injuries in a major road accident on Monday at Omoyele Junction along the Sagamu–Ikorodu Expressway in Ogun State. The crash involved an unregistered Mack truck, a Toyota Highlander, a Suzuki minibus, and a motorcycle. According to TRACE spokesperson Babatunde Akinbiyi, the accident happened when the truck’s brakes failed due to excessive speed, causing it to crash into the other vehicles.
