Falconets set to discover FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup group rivals
Nigeria’s U-20 women’s national team, the Falconets, are set to discover their group-stage opponents for the 2026 FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup in Poland later this week. According to FIFA, the official draw for the tournament will take place on Friday, May 15, in the Polish city of Łódź, one of the four host venues. The Falconets booked their place at the global showpiece after edging Malawi 3–2 on aggregate in a tense final qualifying tie, extending Nigeria’s record of appearing at every edition of the competition since 2002. Nigeria, two-time runners-up at the U-20 Women’s World Cup, are aiming to finally go one better and clinch the title in Poland.
