Ex England defender Kieran Trippier to leave Newcastle
Newcastle United have confirmed that former England defender Kieran Trippier will leave the club at the end of the season when his contract expires. The 35 year old right back joined Newcastle from Atletico Madrid in January 2022 as the first major signing of the club’s new ownership era. Trippier has made over 150 appearances for the Magpies and was a key figure in their rise from relegation candidates to Champions League qualifiers. He helped the club secure two top four league finishes and played a leading role in ending Newcastle’s 70 year wait for a domestic trophy with their recent League Cup success.
