The National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) has condemned the management of Ladoke Akintola University of Technology (LAUTECH), Ogbomoso, over the suspension of a number of students following alleged unrest on campus. The student union has accused the university of resorting to harsh punitive measures instead of addressing the root causes of the crisis. NANS Southwest (Zone D) Coordinator Owolewa Taiwo, who spoke during a press briefing, said the union has exhausted the first two “C’s” of Aluta — consultation and confrontation — in its attempts to resolve the dispute with the university. Air Force Pledges Commitment to Safe Rescue of Abducted Oyo School Victims

The Nigerian Air Force has pledged its full commitment to the safe rescue of all pupils, students and teachers abducted from schools in Oriire Local Government Area of Oyo State. The pledge came as federal and state security agencies intensified rescue operations in the affected forest areas. The Defence Headquarters confirmed that the Chief of Defence Staff, General Olufemi Oluyede, has ordered the deployment of special forces and aerial surveillance assets to Oyo State to support ongoing rescue efforts and restore security in the affected communities. Intelligence gathering, aerial surveillance, community engagement and search-and-rescue operations are continuing without interruption, security officials disclosed. Police Kill Three Kidnappers, Rescue Abducted Victim in Oyo

The Oyo State Police Command has killed three suspected kidnappers during a rescue operation, successfully freeing an abducted victim who had been held hostage in the state. According to the police, the operation followed sustained pressure mounted on the kidnappers, which eventually led to the release of the victim. The Command said extensive bush-combing operations, surveillance patrols, and raids on suspected criminal hideouts across the area resulted in the neutralization of the three suspects.
