Kogi orphan in coma after uncle’s brutal attack over missing phone
A 20-year-old orphan, Muhammad Abdulmumin, is fighting for his life after being allegedly beaten into a coma by his uncle in Adavi LGA, Kogi State. The attacker, identified as Mallam Kamar Amoto, accused Muhammad of stealing his Android phone. After a violent assault, the phone was later discovered in Amoto’s own room. He reportedly admitted forgetting it there. Beaten with a shovel Eyewitnesses said Amoto, a bricklayer, allegedly used a shovel to batter Muhammad until he lost consciousness. A neighbour, Ahmed Rufai, rushed him to Dosam Clinic before he was referred to the Federal Medical Centre, Lokoja. Dr. Nyamida Samuel confirmed Muhammad sustained severe internal bleeding and kidney damage, describing his condition as critical. Outrage and calls for justice Community leaders condemned the attack.
