Lagos rolls out traffic diversion plan for Fanti Carnival at TBS
The Lagos State Government has announced a traffic diversion plan and temporary road closures around Tafawa Balewa Square ahead of the Lagos Fanti Carnival scheduled for Monday April 6 2026. Authorities say the measures are to ensure a safe and hitch free procession on Lagos Island. According to the Ministry of Transportation, vehicular movement will be restricted on major routes leading directly into TBS from 7 00 a m on the day of the event. Affected corridors include King George V Road by the Mobil Filling Station, Flag House inbound TBS, Force Road inbound TBS, Onikan Roundabout inbound TBS and WaterBoy Roundabout by Old Defence House. The Lagos State Traffic Management Authority has mapped out diversions to ease congestion.
