Nollywood star Omotola Jalade Ekeinde has praised women as the backbone of Nigeria’s movie industry, highlighting their dominance in production and their strong entrepreneurial spirit. She said from the early days of Nollywood, women have been central to financing, producing and sustaining films, often taking on multiple roles behind the scenes. Veteran actress Omotola Jalade Ekeinde has advised people in relationships to be cautious about marrying into families that clearly dislike or resist them. She said persistent hostility from in laws can make an already demanding marriage even harder to sustain.​ Speaking on The Morayo Show, she urged partners first to do everything possible to build understanding and trust with a disapproving family.
