Omotola hails women’s dominance and entrepreneurial drive in Nollywood
Nollywood star Omotola Jalade Ekeinde has praised women as the backbone of Nigeria’s movie industry, highlighting their dominance in production and their strong entrepreneurial spirit. She said from the early days of Nollywood, women have been central to financing, producing and sustaining films, often taking on multiple roles behind the scenes. Speaking in an interview on Naija FM 102.7, Omotola noted that many of the industry’s most active producers are women. According to her, female actors are not just faces on screen but major decision makers who “hold Nollywood” through their creativity, organisation and business choices.
