Manchester City delivered a dominant performance to beat Newcastle United 3–1 at St James’ Park and book their place in the FA Cup quarter finals. Pep Guardiola made sweeping changes, rotating 10 players from the side that drew with Nottingham Forest in the Premier League, yet his much changed team still had too much quality for the hosts. Newcastle boss Eddie Howe made four changes of his own after their late win over Manchester United, handing match winner Will Osula a rare start.
