In a statement issued in solidarity with the affected healthcare worker, the association said the attack highlights growing concerns about the safety of nurses and midwives while performing their duties and called for swift justice in the matter. According to GRNMA, the incident involved a female patient who had undergone a caesarean section and was medically discharged on the third day after surgery. Ministry Rejects Bias Claims in Ridge Hospital Probe

The Ministry of Health has dismissed allegations of bias against the committee that investigated the alleged assault of a nurse at the Greater Accra Regional Hospital, popularly known as Ridge Hospital. In an interview on Adom FM’s Dwaso Nsem, the Public Relations Officer, Tony Goodmann, defended the process as thorough and impartial. He stressed that the recommendations were aimed at addressing systemic lapses rather than apportioning blame. “That is not correct. We engaged everyone, including the doctor who assessed the nurse. He is a specialist, and the committee’s work cannot be undermined. This was a comprehensive exercise. Our priority is not pointing fingers but finding ways to strengthen the system,” he said.
