North Korea tests hypersonic missiles, warns nuclear forces are war ready
North Korea says it has successfully test fired new hypersonic missiles under the supervision of leader Kim Jong Un to prepare its nuclear forces for a possible war. State media said the launches were part of drills to place the country’s nuclear arsenal on a more practical, combat ready footing amid what Pyongyang called a worsening geopolitical crisis. According to reports, the missiles flew around 1,000 kilometres over waters east of North Korea, in what Seoul and Tokyo described as the country’s first ballistic missile test of the year.
