World Cup Fans Barred from Bringing Water Bottles into Stadia

FIFA has banned fans from bringing refillable water bottles into World Cup 2026 venues in a last-minute policy change that will force thirsty supporters to pay for bottled water inside the stadiums. FIFA president Gianni Infantino has defended the record high ticket prices for the 2026 World Cup despite mounting criticism from fans’ groups and commentators. Supporters have branded the pricing “extortionate” and “shameful,” with some seats for the final reportedly costing several thousand dollars.
